Posted: 28 Sep 2010 01:10 AM PDT Here is a neat idea that allows you to play with the different faces for a watch. The Watch oNe basically features an E-Ink display which is LED back lit, but its face is not constant, meaning you can change it at whim or fancy. Hook the watch up to the internet and download your kinda face to it. Designers have a choice to upload their creativity to the on-line store, for others to purchase. So the possibilities with this one watch are endless… mechanical, digital, classic, futuristic, complex…any type of face can be downloaded (via micro USB port) for use. The physical watch can also be interchanged with different parts using a range of colors and materials. Constructed out of abs plastic, sapphire glass, stainless steel and fine leather; Watch oNe is going on sale in March 2011 for $350 Designer: Igor Chak ----------
Posted: 28 Sep 2010 01:00 AM PDT The problem addressed in the Line Block Cable is so true to home, it's the one most of us face when we hook up too many gadgets in one area. Not that we can help it, it's ideal to have the TV, CD player and the music housed together. As a result, their cables leading up to the socket can get messy and unsightly. Line Block cables are constructed in such a way that they can tag 2 or more wires in a piggy-back fashion. Essentially this means that if the gadgets have this unique structured cable, they line up one-atop-the-other and split out only near the socket, to give a neat finish. This also means a whole new perspective to the wire and cables industry! Designers: Lee Ji Eun, Yi-Seo Hyeon, Heo-Hyeoksu & Jeong Minhui ----------
Posted: 28 Sep 2010 12:04 AM PDT Ever since I can remember having been conscious of my teeth, I’ve gone to the dentist. When I went there as a child, I would get a “free” toothbrush, floss, and a prize! I’d usually get a bouncy ball or a pencil. As I got older, the prizes went away, but the toothbrushes kept coming. And there wasn’t much choice. A few brushes to be decided between, and that was that. Why would I go out and buy one if I got one here for free? But wait, I said one day a couple years ago; what if there were cooler brushes at the store? Guess what; there weren’t. Enter the brand Yumaki, it’s a brand new world for me, my mouth, and my fashion pallet. Now before you go teeth crazy, let me tell you, Yumaki informs us that they follow all international production standards for professional dental care product and are produced by a Japanese manufacturers that’ve got more than 100 years experience in producing pro oral hygiene products. Now look at these lovely brushes! Each one is super sassy and comes packaged with a travel-sized plastic tube with space enough for additional accessories (like a tiny tube of toothpaste for example). The bristles are made out of high-quality nylon and the flexible handle is made of degradable plastic. There’s 18 designs, and more on the way! Model A101 specs: The 2010 Originals collection has a retail price of around 8 USD Available styles: Limited editions: Designer: Yumaki ----------
Posted: 28 Sep 2010 12:03 AM PDT This project is a pan rack to hold all your pans above your head with the greatest of ease. It’s called “Track Rack” and it’s designed by Damian Evans for Hahn Trading Limited. It’s super fabulous because not only does it hold your pans, it comes in several super nice looking colors. And not only that! It’s also easy to instal. Totally easy to instal. Why, you might ask? Because like all good things that’ve got to be level should, this project comes standard with a bubble level. Hang it straight, hang it from a sloped ceiling, do whatever you want, you’ll always have a rack with some level hung pans. Get the Track Rack in cream, blue, or black. Steel cables hold it up, color comes in at the hooks. Watch out so you don’t bonk your head. Designer: Damian Evans for Hahn Trading Limited ----------
| Posted: 28 Sep 2010 12:03 AM PDT Behold one gigantic yacht for the folks of the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. This is “Landscape,” a yacht made to provide an ideal location for you to have fun on the boat and off, no comfort done without. The Landscape is a 75 meter trimaran with a 20 meter beam. Huge, giant, unbelievably magnificently large. There’s a staircase into the sea, a sun deck, a lounge and dining area under a canopy, a giant main deck with open floor, and cabins, galley, conference room below. Designer Jun Han Song informs us that this Landscape would have a wider beam than any other super yacht to provide the widest amount of space for awesome activities. A staircase surrounds the main deck creating the island-like “Landscape” feel to the boat. Staircases along the sides of the boat provide a similar effect. A canopy is attached to the masts to protect the passengers from weather, meanwhile an outdoor shower is attached for people who’ve swam and would like a non-saltwater shower. The canopy also serves as lighting so there can be parties on into the night. The bridges on the upper and main deck are connected by a spiral staircase for quick changes from outdoors to in for the sailor hitting quick bad weather. The entire boat transforms. Not into a robot, but for more submersion. Inside the boat there are water tanks that fill up on your command causing the vessel to submerge like a submarine. Once the boat is lower, the staircases slide down mimicking a sand beach allowing water accessibility and ocean interaction. Also once submerged, the boat releases two tender docks (7.5m x 3m x 2m) which can be slid out from the boat. The Landscape yacht gets around on wind power and solar power. Wind by sailing and by using Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWTs) located in the masts. These turbines generate electric energy from the wind whether the boat is at rest or sailing. This energy can be used to propel the yacht or to power lights and other electronics on the boat. The solar power is collected through several solar panels located around the ship: the top surface of the upper forward deck, the staircase, and the canopy. I would live here. Thanks very much.
