| Kinetic Effect Clock is Hypnotic Posted: 10 Mar 2011 08:51 AM PST Kinetic Effect Clock is a minimalistic clock that offers a fabulous kinetic effect depending on the position of 3 foils representing the hour, minutes and seconds. There are two versions, the first being a back-lit model that creates a monotone kaleidoscopic effect as light passes thru it. The second works on the same premise except each foil is a color from the CMKY model, K being the odd-man out. Hit the jump for a video. Designer: Florin Busuioc ---------- |
| Posted: 10 Mar 2011 08:44 AM PST Bezalel Academy in Israel was chosen to showcase 45 works from 37 under-graduate and post-graduate students, alongside work from the Royal College of Art in London, the School of Art and Design in Poland and the Academy of Art Maastricht in The Netherlands. Bezalel's students prove they can hold their own among the top art and design schools in the world. Two of the projects stand out. Hit the jump! | Laptop Case with a Hidden Compartment Posted: 10 Mar 2011 08:39 AM PST Plug.in bag is an innovative system consisting of a laptop case and hidden compartment. The laptop case also serves as a convenient stand. Accessories, such as power supply or mouse, are transported in the separate compartment. Whether with or without a table, with Plug.in you can use your laptop anywhere. Functional? Yes. It’s a bit of an eyesore though and I’m never in need of so much power that I have to bring an external power source. Designer: Viola Kosow ---------- |
| Posted: 10 Mar 2011 12:01 AM PST The Giro One is a shelf + side table stand, where you can flaunt your library, rest your coffee cup and show off your knick-knacks. I love the way you can interact with the modules by twirling them up and down the center axis, making it much easier to adjust the height to suit your style. Complimenting the design is a set of LED lamps at the top. It adds just the right amount of sophistication and functionality. Designer: Juil Kim ---------- |
| Posted: 10 Mar 2011 12:01 AM PST Seems like adding a zipper to the earphones is one of the easiest ways to manage them. A refined version is seen in Fasna; the zipper looks sturdy and attention to detail like magnets in the earbuds hold them in place; makes them far more functional too. Just be careful with your shirt if off. Hair, skin and zippers don’t go well together. Designer: Hirotaka Matsui ---------- |
