Micro Four Thirds Camera Brings Cinema Quality

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 08:39 AM PDT

Shift is a hybrid digital camera system for the ambitious filmmaker. Based on the Micro Four Thirds standard, it combines superior image quality with an intuitive operating concept. Individualized control functions and film effects can be integrated into the host and are triggered live. A sophisticated housing provides a swiveling touch screen and an ergonomic handle extension. For unusual perspectives, the control unit can be removed, and the camera operated wirelessly.

Braille by Hand

I'm sure you recollect seeing Braille staplers and dispensers here on YD. What we have today is the Braille Tape; I think it's the simplest and most functional of them all. It's just a sticky tape with parallel dots that you can hand punch to write a Braille message. Label bottles or mark out the danger zone, do it in a jiffy.

The Graceful Spout!

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 12:30 AM PDT

Roofers are specially designed lids for jugs, thermos and teapot with the purpose of making liquid pouring an easy experience. When we pour from a regular spout the liquid tends to drip and settle around the spout opening, resulting in limescale formation. The graceful redesign solves the issue plus keeps the bottle completely covered.

This is how it works, "The ‘roof’ has no opening, so protects the contents, while the curve pushes the liquid back into the vessel after pouring, which prevents any drips forming."

Faux Pen

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 12:00 AM PDT

Designed to look like a thick pen, the Lepen Solder System is probably the sleekest of solder irons I have ever seen. The design is not all about looks though it addresses key issues like ergonomics, smoke absorption, safety and charging. The solder pen docks into the holder for charging, which also doubles up as a smoke absorber. Moonhwan points out that the Soldering Pen helps users to feed, melt, and desolder solder in an easy and comfortable way. I think I agree!

The Lepen is a IDEA 2011 Finalist Entry.
