| Posted: 21 Feb 2011 12:37 AM PST Move over Metro. Introducing the EOL maglev train concept. Magnetic levitation replaces mechanical components to launch this aerodynamic choo-choo to speeds exceeding 480 kilometers per hour; all while you relax or work from the comfort of your personal business class cabin in absolute silence. Though it’s optimized for long distance travel; I’d sacrifice my long-time chauffeur fantasy for making the daily commute on the EOL in a heartbeat. The solar paneled roof and magnetic technology make the train more cost-effective and energy efficient than any existing railroad system. Not to mention, it’s functional and customizable yet polished and minimal interior is just plain hot. Designer: Vanja Valencak ---------- |
| Posted: 21 Feb 2011 12:14 AM PST Rain, snow, and cold weather can be incredibly discouraging for even the most serious biking enthusiasts. Inflatable Fairing was designed with this in mind. The inflatable lightweight shield provides temporary armor against the elements and can quickly be deflated and tucked away in a small protective casing attached to the bike. This is a serious solution for all those cycling addicts out there. Designer: Mohsen Saleh ---------- |

The QUAD is one such concept that brings recreational vehicles into the electric future. A 48v electric motor powered by 4 750amp batteries provide this vehicle 3 hours of juice between charges which only takes 6-8 hours depending on your voltage. Designer: Facundo Elias ---------- |
| Posted: 21 Feb 2011 12:05 AM PST Only a handful of companies carry the badge of luxury and class like Aston Martin and with that cache, they’re expanding into interiors. The premiere of Aston Martin Interiors in Milan marks a new chapter in the company’s portfolio – one that combines their unique technological and design prowess into a distinct contemporary mark for home and office. Think advance industrial technologies like carbon and kevlar compounds mixed with traditional luxury materials like leather and cashmere. The sofa carries minimalistic lines inspired by the form and curves distinguished by the beloved car. The inside frame is made of steel and wood finished off in supple leather. 240 x 200 x 80 cm. Designers: FABIO LUCIANI The chaise lounge is elegant and contemporary. The monocoque bodywork is made of carbon fiber with brilliant aluminum applications. The padding is fixed to the body with elastic belts covered in leather. 205 x 71 x 87 cm. ---------- |
| Posted: 21 Feb 2011 12:01 AM PST Not really, but Rubber Table’s plunger-inspired legs will stick onto any flat, clean surface to create a suction vacuum. Shown here in the classic burnt-orange color of its predecessor, this table’s aesthetic is quirky and whimsical. Admittedly, I wasn’t sure if I loved or hated it, but ultimately it’s grown on me. I’m a sucker (no pun intended) for anything that is inspired by familiar fragments; not to mention, anything that looks like it’s crawling toward you. This design pushes functionality to a whole new level. Designer: Thomas Schnur ---------- |
| Posted: 21 Feb 2011 12:01 AM PST My mother is totally dependent on using a walking stick and still, has moments of pain using it. To make it a more comfortable experience, we have here the Balance Stick. It’s been designed to stand on its own and doesn't fall over if you don't lean it up against the wall – always at the ready to so your loved ones don’t have to pick it up. The Balance Stick is a 2011 iF concept design entry. Designers: Cheng-Tsung Feng & Yu-Ting Cheng ---------- |
| Posted: 21 Feb 2011 12:01 AM PST Popping soda can equals broken nails…. how many agree? I do; it's happened to me one too many times! This is why I look forward to the Can Ring Push design. The innovative special 90-degree ring-pull design should be easy on my fingers and nails. A clever and intelligent redesign! The Can Ring Push is a 2011 iF concept design entry.
