The core is cushioned with inflatable foam to take the reading and results appear on a display or through a tactile, braille surface. In case of emergencies, Tensio can wirelessly call for help. Anything woven usually feels “crafty” but the AURA feels almost alien origin. They’re hand-made in France with loads of attention to detail – the couture of lighting. | Posted: 17 Mar 2011 08:47 AM PDT Using chopsticks requires a kind of dexterous finesse that can take months to master so if your hands are about as coordinated as two left feet, check out the Gori. It’s a gorgeously designed napkin ring that just so happens to function as a spring and tension point when place on top of a pair of chopsticks. I just want one because it looks so damn pretty. | Posted: 17 Mar 2011 12:05 AM PDT Yet another air compression powered motorbike concept from our fellow Frenchmen. The Saline Bird was designed for the quirky speed record holders, Les Triplettes de Bonneville. The air tanks and other elements are nestled snugly within it’s carbon fiber frame. Riders sit in a skier-like position to minimize air resistance. The optional leather body panel adds a nice aerodynamic finish. I hope that hand-stitched hide is ready for some serious bug gut-splatter. Designers: Charles-Edouard Berche, Ugo Spagnolo , Adrien Fuinesl, Frédéric Dobbelstein, Jean-Philippe Paries ---------- |
| Posted: 17 Mar 2011 12:01 AM PDT If you’ve ever had someone sit in your lap, you know that 15 minutes is about the max your legs can handle. It’s really not fair. The Hug chair brings simple design and human gesture together for that extra time you want to sit with your significant other. When you’re away from your special someone the extra seat doubles as a convenient space, perfect for catching up on video chat. Designer: Ilian Milinov ---------- |
| Posted: 17 Mar 2011 12:01 AM PDT Two of my favorite materials: concrete and wood. What’s not to love about these concrete plates by Nir Meiri. Albeit, they have got to be heavy… but nobody’s talking about throwing out the china. No matter the food displayed, it is sure to provide the perfect accent, completing the combination of textures and natural colors. Just tell your Greek brother in-law to be careful where he’s smashing plates with this one. OPA!! Designer: Nir Meiri ---------- |
