| Calling All Divers, Micro Algae Scuba Posted: 10 Jun 2011 08:58 AM PDT Inadequate air supply is one of the top complaints from divers. They want to stay under water longer. There are rich marine resources, and therefore the combination of micro algae characteristics and a “rebreather” are applied in the Micro Algae Scuba concept. When micro algae photosynthesize, they absorb carbon dioxide and convert it into carbohydrates, producing oxygen. The oxygen production of micro algae is 2 to 4 times that of tree oxygen production therefore applying micro algae characteristics with rebreathing technology in a biological scrubber to replace the original time-sensitive scrubber will enable longer dives with less weight. | Posted: 10 Jun 2011 04:22 AM PDT The gorgeous Remorkable Piano Switches fashioned as elegant piano keys give a new meaning to ebony and ivory. Made from Corian the keys can be customized in two tones or kept singular color. What's neat is that you can engrave or screen-print text and symbols on them. The LED Module of switches embeds the lights within the frame, upping the glam-quotient. A voltage version, the 250V model also allows the product to be used for renovation work. I admit, I'm smitten by these switches and hopefully can get my hands on them when they hit the shelves, end of this year. Designer: REMORK DesignStudio ---------- |
| Posted: 10 Jun 2011 03:57 AM PDT I'm not BFF with weighing machines, so much so that I keep ignoring the one in my room everyday! An overwhelming sense of desperation engulfs me when I step on it, and often juggle my frame, in the hope that it may show just an ounce lesser than before. Resonating this sentiment of mine, Jinsik Kim has designed the artistic Salopsy Scale. Molded from either concrete or clay, the scale is the shape of two feet, when perched as tiptoe. I love it more for the emotional value that it aims to provide than its actual function. Look at it from my side of the story, it may not be the accurate weight, but it sure as hell makes me feel good! Designer: Jinsik Kim ---------- |
| Posted: 10 Jun 2011 12:22 AM PDT The RXFE electric concept represents how a modern successor to the iconic rotary powered RX7 might take form. Four hub mounted electric motors work in tandem with the rotary engine forming a hybrid power drive. The RXFE’s facelift emphasizes hard lines and masculine detail but maintains the low profile of the two door 90s icon. Designer: Henry Wang ---------- |
| Posted: 10 Jun 2011 12:03 AM PDT Looks like I’m not the only one with a crazy little shark obsession! I am IN love with this lamp by Aleksandr Mukomelov. The sweeping form of the Shark lamp is subtle enough to blend into both elegant spaces and casual rooms alike. An articulate design with touch of whimsy that will make you chuckle. The limited edition of benches has been refitted with a modest but solid engineered wood rocking frame that gears all attention toward the original bench, reminding of its historic past and encouraging new memories.
