| Bristol Car Concept, Handmade for a Clean Future Posted: 24 Jun 2011 08:57 AM PDT This Bristol car concept is a combination of piezoelectric and photovoltaic wizardry to create a platform that harvests energy from the surrounding environment, rewarding the consumer with the gift of free energy, that can then be used, shared or sold. A clean, powerful yet quintessential design, the vehicle looks like any other, but upon closer inspection you understand the potential of the concept. The vehicle is a tool where the user can develop and learn skills, to tailor and manipulate the piezoelectric threads to maximise the amount energy harvested per journey, in turn, strengthening the relationship between the vehicle and its user. Similar to the way people share the techniques when growing fruit and vegetables, users could also share different techniques and piezoelectric set ups, creating a community and a sense of pride between the vehicle owners, thus creating an ‘AutoCulture’. Akin to the idea of a dermatologist laser-burning blemishes and dark spots from your skin, the Ink Remover Printer proposes to do something similar; zap out the ink using laser technology. | Posted: 24 Jun 2011 01:13 AM PDT GEO Magnetic is quite an awesome lamp as far as design thinking goes. The basic lamp is a halo of light that glides up and down a steel rail, using magnetic attraction. The base halo holds a ball shape switch that looks suspended but is held in place using a fine thread. There are three levels of illumination and the electric current flowing into each section varies in intensity, this allows the spherical switch to shift its position to on/off. Besides being a desk lamp, the GEO Magnetic doubles up as a romantic moodlight when the light halo is glided closer to the base. Designer: Hyungwoo Uhm ----------     |

| Posted: 24 Jun 2011 12:01 AM PDT Remember when we were just kids and life’s challenges were so incredibly simple? Tying shoes. Adding 10+10. Sigh… if only day to day obstacles were still that easy. The Training Dresser is a reminder that no matter how insignificant those things might seem now, they are milestones we all had to achieve at some point or another. The dresser’s informative graphic drawers make it an encouraging object for kids and an iconic furniture piece for parents, sure to be cherished for years. Get it here! The dresser is hand crafted and packaged with care in Eastern Washington by the crew at Mountain View Cabinetry. The cabinet is made from ¾" ULDF and finished with conversion varnish. The drawers are 9 ply ½" maple plywood, dovetailed and finished with clear catalyzed lacquer. All cabinet and drawer components are cut, drilled and dadoed on a CNC table router. Assembled with a combination of screws, pins, staples, glue, and Pacific Northwest fresh air. Designer: Peter Bristol ----------     |

Each craft holds four passengers and can be pre-booked online or at a number of conveniently placed docks throughout the city. Once on board, passengers can enjoy the craft’s futuristic aesthetic and relax as the autopilot directs them to their destination. Manual drive also provides an efficient and fun attraction for tourists wanting to get a more personal view of the city.
