Posted: 25 Aug 2011 03:08 AM PDT The era of Tablet PC is upon us and it's kinda mesmerizing to see the kind of functions and features you can pack into the device. For instance the Iris Tablet PC is a transparent touchpad with an OLED display. It uses wireless charging technology, can scan documents, translates texts and can work as an efficient navigator. The coolest two apps is how you can use it for planning interior designing using AR and split the screen up for shared use. The kind of concept that I look forward to! Posted: 25 Aug 2011 02:49 AM PDT The Rub Feel Know is a concept watch for the visually impaired and it tells the time in a very unique way. The hour circle and minute circles have different shapes so that they are intuitively distinguished. Plus both the circles maintain different temperatures, just to be double sure. The hour circle is warmer and minute circle is colder. Hour Larger concave circle in the watch is hour circle maintaining a temperature of 37 degrees C, which feels relatively warm and thus intuitively indicates the exact hour of time. Minute Smaller convex circle in the watch is minute circle maintaining a temperature of 12 degrees C, which feels relatively cold and thus intuitively indicates the exact minute of time. Posted: 25 Aug 2011 12:01 AM PDT The aim of this design by Jurmol Yao is to enhance the practicality of the portable bicycle tire pump. When attached to your bike, it doubles as an LED taillight powered by stored kinetic energy produced when you pump your tires. Simply genius. Designer: Jurmol Yao ---------- |
Posted: 25 Aug 2011 12:01 AM PDT The Ponderlon lamp by Iva Dinulovic is a project that grew out of a simple observation of a construction site and various everyday uses of physics that are often overlooked. The easy to assemble, bare-bones design consists of very basic materials including pine, rope, card, and steel weights that ground the central piece of wood. A great DIY piece.
