Posted: 30 Aug 2011 08:49 AM PDT Inspired by Dyson’s Air Multipliers, the Dyke bike (I’m serious) works on the same principles. Air flows through the bronze hollow cylinder creating an entrainment. The air is pulled, amplified by 1000000X, to pushed the bike upwards (stability) and forward (speed), all powered by electricity. The design is styled with an “air”odynamic in mind – sexy with a provocative elegance and unique ergonomics. Designer: Imran Othman ---------- |
Posted: 30 Aug 2011 03:15 AM PDT I should have paid more attention to astronomy when it was being taught in school; it's a shame that I learnt the constellations off the Internet. I am determined to make sure my children learn to marvel the treasures in the sky. One way to do this is with the Stella, a concept camera plus projector combo. On a starry night you simply capture the mesmerizing skies and the project it to your bedroom ceiling. Awesome way to learn about the starts! Posted: 30 Aug 2011 02:54 AM PDT The Microphone Wizard is for the KTV (Karaoke) maniacs who enjoy singing a song or two. The microphone comes with a sleek navigation bracelet clip, cutting out unnecessary peripherals to the minimum. Agreed professional microphones come with all the glam and tech support, but home KTV is still cheesy as ever. This design for mic makes bathroom singers look like sexy rockstars! Posted: 30 Aug 2011 12:01 AM PDT Designer Paulus Maringka is a pro at sustainable bike designs! The Greencycle bamboo bike aims to minimize labor and production costs while still improving human power functionality. What’s more is that the design focuses on the affordability, desirability, and overall need of the Third World target users. The laminated bamboo frame design is not only sustainable and economical, but utilizes the skills of the local craftsmen. Designer: Paulus Maringka ---------- |
Posted: 30 Aug 2011 12:01 AM PDT It’s no wonder that, for younger generations, the watch is being largely replaced by cell phones and other electronic devices. Designer Giorgio Guidi imagines that the watch will eventually become almost purely an aesthetic accessory and if it’s going to survive it better be both functionally simple and damn good looking. Using unique materials, his design, the Gummy watch, accomplishes both of these tasks in a funky yet simple digital timepiece. An interchangeable silicone wristband means complete customization of color and size. Designer: Giorgio Guidi ---------- |
