A New Way to Experience Cognac Posted: 29 Aug 2011 08:12 AM PDT The “Seduction Series” is a new experience emphasizing the aromas distinctive to Rémy Martin. These unique items of glassware and serving accessories are intended to sensitize people to the expectation of complex olfactory experiences by using specific gestures. The service will be exclusive to private events and parties and it brings a youthful way to celebrate the exceptional aromatic profiles of Rémy Martin. Posted: 29 Aug 2011 08:11 AM PDT Outdoor furniture usually follow a limited number of existing conventions. The Terrace Chair is an attempt to go outside the rules or define a new convention: While being instantly recognizable, it looks somewhat different from what you would expect to find in your home & garden center. The bulk of the chair is rotation moulded in polyethylene with a base of stainless steel and requires little maintenance – just leave it out all year and give it a wash now and then. Connect a low voltage cable to the bottom of the base and the chair will glow invitingly. Designer: Kaare Bækgaard ---------- |
Posted: 29 Aug 2011 01:31 AM PDT Junwon Yang's Emergency Flashlight is designed to illuminate both the path in front of you and the one that you are walking on. To do this, the torch has lamps at both the ends of the shaft. However the one pointing to the floor is angled at 45 degrees; so if you have people following your lead, they can see where they are stepping. I think it's a clever design for areas where it's going to be pitch dark and as long as it isn't a battery-drainer. Designer: Junwon Yang ---------- |
Posted: 29 Aug 2011 01:16 AM PDT The Bathboard is a too-good-to-be-true design. It has all the makings of an excellent bathtub; one, which folds up and holds enough water for a good soak. But my only worry is that will the framework take the weight of water + the person using it? For the moment lets just consider this, the tub is made from foam rubber treated to be very elastic and spongy. It weighs less than 3 kgs and juts out only 12-cms from the wall. A flexible drainpipe starts above the central point of the tub, making it easy to fold up. So back again to my question, can we have this design workable for the cause of bathing luxury in limited spaces? If yes, then I surely want one. Design: Sylwia Ulicka Rivera ---------- |
Posted: 29 Aug 2011 12:01 AM PDT This logging machine by designer Regimantas Vegele is a response to growing concern over current timber extraction methods that have a negative impact on surrounding flora/fauna and delicate root system of trees that effects nutrient content in the soil. The low-impact forester aims to decrease these negative effects while retaining the high productivity of current machines. Designer: Regimantas Vegele ---------- |
Posted: 29 Aug 2011 12:01 AM PDT The Boet (Swedish for nest) stool by Note Design Studio is inspired by the elevated, protected and soft bird’s home in the trees. The metal frame comes in a variety of different colors and is perfectly contrasted with a soft, round cork seat fit snugly into the top metal bowl. Me want. Designer: Note Design Studio ---------- |
Posted: 29 Aug 2011 12:01 AM PDT Gotta love this functionally simple, sharp looking LED table lamp by designer Michael Samoriz. The Phalanx consists of five moveable segments including one heavier base segment and one containing bright LED lights. Simply move them to adjust the lamp’s shape or the direction of the light. A little bit skeletal, and a little bit wormy… I dig it! Designer: Michael Samoriz ---------- |
